Maddie & Milo Adopted!!!!

Two more of "MY" babies have been adopted!!!

Maddie

Milo
I'll admit that part of me laments that fact...  And part of me says, "Oh, my babies must be scared!!"  But the rest of me is delighted that these two wonderful kitties have forever homes of their very own!!

Only Mia is left!!!  I wonder if she'll make it to closing time tonight...  You can contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Miranda's been adopted!!!!

Yippee!!!!

Wonderful Miranda was the first of Katy's kittens to be adopted!!!

Not surprising, she's such a sweetie...  She loves to be held, will tell you when she wants attention, is playful...  A great little gal!!!

Rumor has it that she's got a big brother or sister kitten and some human kiddos to play with.  Lucky gal!!!

Ruby's been adopted!!!

Great news!!

Beautiful Ruby has been adopted!!

Rumor has it that she's got a brother about her age to play with...  Lucky girl!!!

Kittens are Available for Adoption!!!

Katy's sweet kittens are ready to be adopted!!

Note: You can click on the picture to see it in a larger size.

If you're interested in any of "MY" babies <g>, please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Remember, these babies are going to go super fast, as it's still early in the kitten season...  Before long, though, there will be many babies waiting and "hoping" for their own families...  And right now, Mercedes is also waiting at BACC.  She's just 4.5 months old and an absolute darling!

New Picture of Mercedes

We saw beautiful Mercedes last night...

She's doing well with the babies and patiently tolerated a kitten pile in my arms when I just couldn't help but hold them all at once!!  She's soft and lovely and will be perfect for a patient and loving family.

Would you like to meet fabulous Mercedes?  Please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Katy's Babies are Almost Ready!!!

For those of you who've been waiting with baited breath for Katy's babies to be ready for adoption, your wait is almost over.  We think that they'll probably be posted on Petfinder late next week.

Here a a few pictures from Tuesday, April 19th...

Mia

Maddie

Milo

Miranda (w/Ruby)

Unfortunately, these babies will go *quickly*, so some folks will surely be disappointed...  However, remember that kitten season has barely begun.  Before long, the shelters will be swimming in beautiful kitty babies that need loving homes.  Sad, but true...

Keep an eye on the shelter's Petfinder page.  They'll be posted there as soon as they're ready to go, probably late next week.

Re-Introducing Mercedes...

Wonderful Mercedes was adopted in January and has returned to the kitty colony at BACC.  My understanding is that she's a great kitty who just wasn't a great fit for her new family.

Here are a couple of pictures of her in January when she was a little-bitty gal...

Mercedes is doing wonderfully in the colony room with the babies and Ruby.  I'll try to get some new pictures of her soon.

Dr. Leslie thinks that Mercedes will appreciate a fairly quiet home with older children or no children.  She's about 4.5 months old.

Would you like to meet beautiful Mercedes?  Please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Introducing Bandit...

Bandit was an owner relinquishment, which the shelter doesn't normally accept as an animal control facility, but Dr. Leslie's got a soft heart...  Bandit's family was losing their home and had no place to take him.

Bandit's clearly a kitty who's used to being loved.  He deserves a new family who will be able to provide him with a wonderful home.  He's not a big fan of other pets, though, so he'd do best as "king of the castle".

Beautiful isn't he??  He's got medium-long, two-tone coat, with a silver undercoat and black outer layer.

If you'd like to meet Bandit, please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Introducing Angel...

Angel is a great gal who loves attention!!!

She came to the shelter with an injured leg.  She's responded well to treatment and is so happy to be feeling better again!!

If you're looking for a lovely tabby gal, Angel is the one for you!  She's going to make a loving family very happy!!!

Please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page to meet her.

Introducing Smokey...

Smokey is a handsome boy with medium length smoke gray fur.

As you can see, he's a curious guy, interested in the world around him.  He loves attention and being petted.  He's a bit thin as he's been on his own for a while, but he's getting healthier and stronger every day.  Smokey does well with other kitties.

Do you want to meet Smokey?  You'll be glad you did!  Please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Arthur Adopted!!

Sweet Arthur was adopted last week!!!

We wish you a wonderful life, fabulous boy...

Who's Left???

Things are quiet in the kitty colony at BACC these days...

It's so wonderful to know that kitties are being adopted even faster than they're coming in...  Including the "barely adoptable"kitties!  We've had several that I've really worried about finding homes.  But with lots of patience and TLC, Dr. Leslie has made it happen!  Yippee!!

Today there are only 2 kitties available for adoption at BACC.  But what a pair of kitties they are!!!

Arthur was a stray kitty who came in with his "best gal" Alice.

Alice has been adopted, so Arthur is waiting his turn...  He's truly a prince.  He's very friendly, great with kids and adults both, and is gentle and loving.

Ruby is a young lady, probably 6 to 7 months old.

She's very friendly, loves attention, and will "talk" to you to tell you when she's waiting for it.  She's great about being held, is still playful, but has lost some of the wildness of a young kitten.  I'm hoping to find a home for sweet Ruby soon, as I'm worried she might get lost in the sea of kittens that will be coming as kitten season gets into full gear.

Do you want to meet either of these fantastic felines?  They're waiting for you at the shelter!  You'll be glad you took the time to meet them.  They're simply great.  Please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Misty adopted!

I just realized that I forgot to post that Misty was adopted last week!!

Misty's a delightful lady who clearly charmed her way into someone's heart...  A family came to visit and had decided to adopt Arthur.  They went away to prepare for their new family member and then called to say that they changed their mind, and they wanted Misty!  Go Misty!  (Arthur doesn't mind, he knows he's got a great family that just hasn't found him yet...)

Sisters...

Poonai and Amber, the permanent "Burien Kitties in Ballard", have been having a blast playing together.  And this weekend, I found them sleeping together for the first time...

I bet is won't be long before they start cuddling...

Sweet sisters...

Getting Ready to Say "Goodbye" to the Babies...

Our family is getting ready to say goodbye to Katy's beautiful babies.

They are each utterly delightful.  We'd love to keep them all, but our home is full for now.  Baby-faced Maddie is feistier than you'd think.  Miranda loves attention and will tell you so.  Milo is a playful teddy bear.  Mia is a little adventurer who's not afraid to admit that she also loves a cuddle.  They're also all still learning to play gently, have a hard time staying away from cords, and do their fair share of "tooting".  (Their digestive systems are still maturing, after all...)

We'll be taking the babies to the shelter on Wednesday evening, but they won't yet be ready for adoption.  They still need to do a bit of growing, and then will be spayed/neutered before they're available for adoption.  When they become available, they'll be posted on Petfinder and I'll post here, too.

Milo
Miranda

Maddie

Mia
These little darlings will surely fly to their new homes, so if you're not lucky enough to be able to adopt them, never fear!  Kitten season is just beginning.  Before long, there will be too many kittens waiting, I'm quite sure...

Katy adopted!!

Katy's found a home!!

Okay, I will admit that I was hoping Katy would stay at the shelter a bit longer...  I wanted to spend more time with her and my daughter especially wanted her babies to see their mama again...

But, I hear that she's got a great new home!!!  Someone who's been coming to visit the kitties every few weeks, patiently waiting for just the right kitty.  And Katy was it!  I love the idea of wonderful Katy being adopted by someone who so clearly values her...

There are kitties still waiting at BACC.  Please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Rest in Peace, Angelo

Sadly, beautiful Angelo has passed away.

Angelo arrived at the shelter very ill.  The doctor diagnosed him with a thyroid problem and began treatment right away.  We'd hoped he'd be adopted as a special needs kitty, as cats with thyroid problems often live happy lives with treatment.

Sadly, Angelo was too far gone when he arrived at the shelter and didn't respond to treatment.  It's so hard when we lose a kitty, but sadly, part of the deal...

Stray and abandoned animals live very difficult lives.  Please be sure to spay or neuter your pets!!  Keeping the population under control will go a long way to helping these wonderful animals.

If you're interested in meeting any of the wonderful animals waiting for homes at BACC, please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

Alice Adopted!

And, also on April Fools Day, lovely Alice was adopted!!

Now it's time to find a home for her dear friend Arthur...

If you're interested in meeting Arthur or the other kitties at BACC, please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.

S'mores Adopted!!!

No foolin'!!  S'mores was adopted on April Fools Day!!

Such wonderful news!!  I wondered and worried about it ever happening...  S'mores is sweet, but so shy that it's very difficult to connect with her.  Dr. Leslie says that her new "mom" is very patient.  So, so, so wonderful!!!

Congratulations, beautiful girl!!  And congratulations to S'mores new family!!

There are kitties still waiting at BACC.  Please contact the shelter through their Petfinder page.
