I've done a lousy job of keeping the blog updated about Amber. (Pneumonia will do that, I guess...) I did make a quick mention that Amber and Goldie had a wrestling accident and Amber's eye was injured. The injury turned out to be pretty serious and the little darling lost her eye. And, her waiting family was unable to adopt her. (The two are unrelated, I believe...) So, we needed to find her another family.
Amber's injury and resulting surgery, as well as her fantastically loving personality prompted all of us involved in her care to fall even more in love with her... We were all having a hard time letting her go, evidenced by the fact that none of us seemed willing to post her on Petfinder... And so, after a lot of thought, I decided to break my own rule.
Amber is now Poonai's baby sister!! She's now the second permanent Burien kitty in Ballard...
We're all delighted. Our big kitty Josie is ignoring her, Poonai is very interested, and Amber acts as though she knew she'd end up here all along.
So... This is what they call a "failed foster", I believe, where the foster family cannot let go.
